So I recently uploaded "Barricade Vigil" which was a contest prize commission, but I also wanted to color the piece, so I did. I daresay this is my first really 3D attempt. I used lots of layers to create the background and barricade. And shading and lighting to give it a more 3D feel... I hope I was successful. I am trying hard to improve my work so my figures are more than just flat people on lame backgrounds.
In case you can't tell, it's Enjolras from "Les Miserables" atop the barricade.

I think this is perfect. You captured his youth, strength, and reputed beauty; and his expression and posture show how pensive he is during the Night of Anguish. Also the night sky is a lovely color. Great job on this.
