Quick Kiki Costumeby *Durnesque

I got invited to a "Which Witch is Which?" Party and needed a quick costume, so this is what I threw together. It's Kiki from "Kiki's Delivery Service."

Every peice of the costume (except the broom) is from a local thrift store.

I altered a large black dress: narrowed and lengthened the sleeves, took off buttons and shoulder pads, and shortened the hem.

With the extra dress fabric, I made Gigi's (the cat) head which I attached to a cheap basket.

I made the bow out of the sleeve of a small red sweatshirt.

The hair was the most difficult part of this because my hair really falls close to the middle of my back. It took an hour to figure out how to pin it up.
