Little White Dress by Durnesque Little White Dress by Durnesque
So this is a dress I made about 5 years ago from one of my favorite dress patterns. I uploaded it before, but now that I'm trying to be a bit more professional about my sewing I thought it was due for a make over in presentation. So I took some better pictures!

See it and other pieces in greater detail on my Facebook page: Sarah's Stache
You'll also be able to see happy customers wearing them!

On Tumblr: please reblog; you do not have permission to repost anywhere without my permission.

I'll be moving it to my scraps and probably eventually deleting, but here's the original deviation anyway:
White Summer Dress by Durnesque

:star: I can't believe this deviation made the front page! I'm so incredibly grateful! It may take me a bit to personally thank you, but if you fave or comment on this deviation, please know how much I appreciate it! :star:

FAQ: The pattern is McCall's M5094

I wish I could find one like this to give my wife. She loves wearing white dresses for me, and this one is just gorgeous!

Thank you very much! If you could find somebody to make it, McCalls still offers this pattern! (I'm not taking commissions right now, or I'd offer myself)

Oh my gosh this dress is so beautiful!

I'm planning on making a dress like this for a cosplay, so I wanted to ask you,

I noticed that its poofier and not hanging down as much in comparison to the old one,  is there anything or trick in the process of making it that would make such change? I want to avoid mistakes as much as possible
Also could you tell me what kind of dress this is called?

Thank you!! Your work is wonderful! XD
Sarah~

Thanks very much!

There's no difference in the dress, I just put a crinoline on the dress doll.

The pattern is McCall's M5094

Very cute dress. I love the sleeves and the way the fabric falls. Great choice with that.

Thank you!

You should! It's a great and easy pattern! I will let you know though, I widened the sleeve-strap pattern/piece to make it gather. Otherwise it's just a flat cap sleeve ish...

I have a Facebook Page, Sarah's Stache ([link]). If you go there you should be able to share pictures, rather than reposting. Let me know if you have trouble! Also, the pattern is McCalls if your friend needs to know.

And best of luck with your fitness journey! :)

oh it's cute! I can't really tell what you changed between this and the old version, but it looks like maybe you seamed the sleeves and hemline with better hems? and did you put in a lining maybe too?

But thank you!

Compared to the old dress, the skirt on this version poofs out a lot more. How did that happen? Did you change the pattern? It looks very nice! :3 Even little touches like that make a big difference.

What you're probably noticing is I have a crinoline on my dress form... and a dress form! Lol. In the picture of me actually wearing it, I'm just holding the skirt out, though I probably could/would wear a crinoline then as well.

Thank you!

Very cute! My mother was the best seamstress I have ever seen, her advice was "Iron as much as you sew.".

Very sage and good advice... but I detest ironing! Lol. I probably should have given this one a quick iron before pictures. Wish I had a steamer!

Thanks!

Thanks so much! I think I list the pattern on my old deviation... it's a McCalls. It might be a different number now, but I think they still make it, or at least a variation.
