Belle's Ball Gown by Durnesque Belle's Ball Gown by Durnesque
So this is both a self portrait and a demonstration of another art I enjoy- costume design and creation! I made this for the Princess show/birthday parties I now direct. ([link])

I did not make the full dress, but rather took an awkward and ugly orange strapless, long-trained, bizzare wonder, added a few details and made Belle's ball gown from Disney's Beauty and the Beast!

I also converted the dress into a lace-up so that girls of many sizes can wear it.

(Please excuse the weird background... I'm perched on my parents tub in front of the only mirror in the house large enough to show the whole dress)

Thank you! Yes, we're putting on the full show again this summer, but all the princess are available for hire throughout the year. It's very fun!

We don't use only Dsny princesses, use non-Dsny names when possible (i.e. Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid) and don't attach the name to our production. Besides, we're making such little money off of it...its more of a convinience fee for gas and costumes than anything. Also, I did pay for the all of the Dsney music that we use.
