8 Way Bodice Set by Durnesque
8 Way Bodice Set
This is a personal project I made to wear at festivals. The strapless bodice and short bodice can each be worn alone and either on the green or red side or they can be paired wearing either the matching or mis-matching sides. Not every way possible is pictured, but hopefully you get the idea. It was fun to have options. If I felt more confident about my midsection, I would have worn the half-bodice by itself more... but I don't just at the moment. Plus I was working when wearing this and needed to use a belt and boy did it look awkward with a short bodice and belt! Lol, someday I will master the fashion of a half bodice!

Seriously though, I LOVE these fabrics and the clashing mismatch of them. They were fun to wear. :)

So, for anyone keeping up with my craziness, life is in fact insane, but wonderful!

Performance:
I am a full-time, professional performer now as a stage act at Renaissance Festivals, so that's super cool. You can check out more about my group on our Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/TheAngelsHID/. What that means though is that I'm constantly traveling - every 2 months we're in a new location. I work Sat-Sun, rehearse Tues and Thurs and rest Mondays. Meaning I basically only have Wednesdays and Fridays to do any of my other work, like sewing and digital work. Also, because we live on the road, we have to use libraries and cafes for real internet, meaning it's much harder for me to upload and display my work. I'm also usually consumed with social media work for my performance group, so sewing and digital art have definitely fallen a bit by the wayside.

Sewing:
I have done a couple of sewing projects and have a few more lined up for the next several months, but I just don't have the kind of time that I was hoping I would. Maybe as things settle out it will get easier, but it's definitely going to be rarer.

DragonCon:
For the near future I will not be able to attend DragonCon or any other con, because they're usually on weekends, when I work. I cannot express how bummed this makes me. Though my husband and I are finding other reasons to get dressed up and will be making some of the costumes we planned for DragonCon for a visit to the Texas Renaissance Festival which has one weekend we'll be able to visit.

If you're looking to more constantly follow my crazy life adventures, my personal Facebook (www.facebook.com/SarahDurnesque/) or Tumblr (durnesque-esque.tumblr.com/) are the best bets.... but damn do I miss having better access to internet and the time to do more of the stuff I used to.

But life is awesome, though always crazy.

The Force Awakens - Rey by Durnesque
The Force Awakens - Rey

While I certainly don't look much like her and I wasn't feeling particularly good while taking these photos, I am still super pleased with the results of my Rey photoshoot!

I knew I had to get photos before leaving the Arizona desert and Sean was good enough to play photographer since I missed my chance with a professional. You can see more of these photos on my Tumblr or Facebook pages!

Rey Costume - Star Wars by Durnesque
Rey Costume - Star Wars
My finished Rey costume for the Star Wars premiere! Custom dye job on shirt, sashing, pants, arm wraps, belt, and bracer (so... every piece, lol). The belt and bracer are both real leather. I wish the distressing/dye job had photographed better, but I'm quite happy with how it looks in person! And I cannot WAIT to wear it to the movie!

You can see more photos on my facebook or  tumblr. On tumblr, please only reblog from me!

You do NOT have permission to repost this image anywhere!

(P.S. This costume will be up for sale after the premiere - us size 4-6).

Awesome! Thank you so much! If you wouldn't mind using my deviantart tag for that, just to create a bit more consistency with linkage the code Durnesque will get it right to my deviantart page. :)
